I am new here. My name is Sandra. I am a retired attorney; semi disabled looking for a talking African/Congo Gray parrot. I am investigating three individuals in the St. Louis area. Any hints; or tips as to a good individual?

Hi there Sandra and we give you a very warm welcome to the forum. We are very active and are here to help you. As far as getting a grey you could always ask for references if she/he has re-homed birds before. Will you be going to the home where the bird is located? That way you can check for a clean environment and signs that this person cares for the bird or birds. If you are adopting or purchasing I would make it final only upon a check up with an avain vet. Congos and wonderful birds but can have a few issues such as feather picking. I would look for a well socialized grey who does not stress out too much when you are near the cage. Greys are little feathered treasures with a high level of intellegence and sensativity. You have chosen well. Please keep us posted on what happens. Good luck!!
