Just curious about different ways peoples conures show them affection. I have heard they are generally very snuggly birds....just curious if many of you experience this and if so, how does your conure snuggle???

I don't think she is showing affection in the way we humans feel it, but mine sits on my shoulder and preens my hair, preens the hair on my arms if I'm holding her on my hand, tries to allofeed my ears, leans up against my neck until I gently push her away, climbs down my shirt, falls asleep on my shoulder, and seeks me out every so often when she's out of her cage.

Kiwi likes to snuggle into my hand, and rub her face along my cheek. She will also make little purring and clucking noises and repeat words I say to her back to me. She loves to preen my hair and the skin between my thumb and pointer finger - that's her favorite spot.

One of the things I do to find out if she's in a cuddly mood is I'll scratch an area close to her with my finger. If she wants a cuddle, she will dip her head down under my finger and then curl up into my hand for some preening. It's very very cute!

Rizo likes to lay on her back on my chest and watch tv lol....but the one way that I know I am her mommy the most is when she is getting in trouble from daddy she high tales her butt over to me and then stares at her daddy as if to say "you can't get me now i'm with mom lol"

My current conures aren't really that into me. They've been cage mates for almost 12 years, so they prefer each others company. My blue-crown conure liked to sit on my shoulder and nibble on my ear.

My younger Senegal, Georgie Girl, who is almost 17, likes to be snuggled up under my chin with my hand cupping her back and she'll start crying like a baby bird.

My GCC River will occasionally preen me, but usually she prefers to receive affection rather than give it. When she's in the mood for some one-on-one she'll come over and push her head under my fingers until I give her scritches.

Somewhere I have a picture of three conures inside my shirt with just their little heads sticking out...

Cuddly?! Yeah... especially my little sun conure!

Also, my conures were my little clown trick birds. I had the whole toy set up on my living room coffee table, and they would play for hours... THAT WAS the entertainment that got me through some very tough times with a smile.

I miss them all...
