So if you saw my vet check up thread you might know Lincoln was diagnosed with a bacterial infection and I was given medicine to treat him and I've been regularly giving it to him at roughly the same times every day. I was told to give him 1ml (that might be wrong, it's the first tick on those really small syringes. I'm not good at remembering measurement names if I'm being honest but they marked the syringe and it says in the bottle so I know I'm not overdosing him) twice daily. He takes it no problem. But yesterday I had him out and he seemed to be scratching at the infected skin a lot more than usual. He would stop scratching for a moment only to go right back at it. Is it normal for itching to increase a bit while healing? We set up a follow up for the 11th but should I push that for sooner?

I don't know about Lincoln but when I have something healing it periodically itches

Same here. Not sure if it's the same with birds but my scabs itch when they heal :08: Are there visible scabs on Lincoln?

No Lincoln doesn't have any easily visual scabs BUT he doesn't let me touch him a lot so it's hard getting a good look. I will try again in the morning but he's also begun being rather hormonal so I expect to lose a finger.

If he's not terribly sick, then some extra bathes may help.
