Hi guys. Well it sure does seem too me that their are far more of these wonderful creatures that need too be adopted than bought from a store.
While I have an 8 and 10 year old I paid for I feel more like I adopted them.
My birds came from terrible situations for living, after seeing how smart they are and the care that they need, I just can't figure out why people buy these birds then neglect them.

Very good point! The sad part is that there is not simple answer!

Sadly, to many Humans 'believe' that just because 'they' want something, they should have it. This is added to by the miss-belief that whatever it is, it comes ready to be everything that believe it should be fresh from the 'box.'

Although, that maybe true with with Smartphones, it just never works that way with Parrots!

To steal a line from a movie (and life in general); Stupid is, as Stupid Does!

Add to the fun of all of this, the Parrot Bites and commonly very hard! So, that Parrot is taken to a Pet Store or you name it and dumped! If the Parrot is lucky, the next Human has some smarts (they came to Parrot Forum) and have enough knowledge to develop a relationship with a Parrot.

Sad story!

For some additional insight, read the second Thread in the Amazon Forum, titled: I Love Amazons - ... target the first Segment to garner more of an understanding of this happening.

Enjoy!
