Hopefully!

Met him today spent a couple hours with him and he was preening me at the end of the first hour. Not the most cuddly guy according to his current owners but I'm hoping I can work with him to MAYBE open up to the idea of this. The people who have him now have had him for about a year, prior to that he lived with an older man in a basement and that's about all I know.

I'm not a fan of his name "Merlin" but I suppose I could get use to it.

I'm excited but nervous! I feel like I'm getting married next week! Lol. Lifetime commitment but I've been waiting to get a larger bird for the past ten plus years, just been waiting for the right one to come along and I feel like this was meant to be!

awww he's so cute hope you can get him!!!! And yea it is just like having a two year old with wings and a more devious mind! And don't be hating on the name Merlin ;) that's what I named my Macaw.

Congratulations!

Wow, sounds like you made huge progress in a very short time. It took me over a month of weekend visits for Skittles to step up for me.

As far as names goes, that is up to you if you want to keep it or change it. I have read that if you change it, you should try to f find something similar, or say the old name and then the new name, and slowly say the new name more and more than the old one.

With Skittles, there was very little history on her. The police figured that she must be about 17 years old and the vet agreed. No past medical records, and no name. I named her Skittles simply because of her rainbow coloring and because she was eye candy to me. :D

I do wish I knew her name. Sometimes she says "Bob" when I first see her in the morning and sometimes she says "snuggle baby". Maybe Bob was the owner and he called her baby when he wanted to snuggle? I guess I will never know.

But the important part is that it doesn't seem to matter what I call her, she its just happy to have a new home.

Lol sorry no disrespect I just don't have a good association with the name to begin with. He's quite the character, if all goes well then he's ours, I just hope things go as planned!

Haha aww he looks such a character! My partner will be jealous, he has always wanted one! But apparently there are only 3 in the country. The breeding pair do t breed and the lady won't sell the other one to the guy with the pair!
