Every morning Kia acts like a baby. I uncover her about 7am and give her some fruit for breakfast. She get's all puffed up and does the little baby sqwak noises. She wont come out of the cage until after noon. If I try to take her out before noon she'll come, but cries like she's a baby getting handfed again. She'll quiet down as soon as I put her back. So I havent been taking her out before noon. Even when I walk past her cage she'll do the baby noise. Like I said this is only until about noon. She doesnt do it for the rest of the day. She's out of the cage playig and climbing from noon til I go to bed. I know she's still technically a baby, but is this normal? Will she grow out of it? Or is this just something some birds do?

My TAG is 6 mos old and he does a baby sound in the mornings and sometimes in the evening. He likes me to spoon feed him warm sweet potatoes or oatmeal and then he likes to sit in my lap and cuddle for awhile and then he is fine . You might try something like that?

My Macaw will be 1 in a month and she still does this. I actually made a post about it in the Macaw section xD.. one day she'll grow out of it, maybe.

Yoshi still does that from time to time. Less now then before though.
If he gets under my neck while Im playing with him , he does it.
I k ow its the secure feeling , the closeness to me that makes him do this.
If I scoop him up with both hands and turn him upside down , he starts to do it ,
oddly enough , lolol. I would think they will do this for a while. The bigger the bird , the longer it takes for them to mature. Anything that reminds the young ones of being held and hand fed will cause them to make those sounds and movements .
They get that warm and fuzzy feeling I guess you could say :)
As long as your baby doesn't revert back to really wanting to be hand fed and stops feeding herself would there be a problem ( IMO )
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong .

Thanks everyone. I figured it was normal, just wanted to make sure. It's funny how it's only in the morning hours. If I leave her be she stops. If i go near the cage, walk by, or pick her up she does it, but only in the morning. She definately has no problem feeding herself tho lol.
