hei guys, I'm now clicker training my parrot, but the clicker training in my place is not that common, so for now i have no place to buy a clicker, but i just began the training with the instrument in the photo, is it ok? or i must use a true clicker? the sound is different from a real clicker....
i can only get a real clicker in December, and when i get it can i change immediately? I mean if the real clicker still effective? or i need to redo all the training with the real one?

Makeshift clicker should work fine as long as the sound is consistent.

The point of clicker training is to associate the noise of the clicker with doing what your bird is supposed to be doing, so it's easier for them to pick out that behaviour and repeat it.

Clicker training doesn't necessarily require a clicker... but a clicker, or some *precise* noise like a clicker can be used as a bridge from the bird doing a good behavior to getting a reward. :)

I do the same as Wayne..

Never used a clicker.. Instead i say 'good boy' every time, and a treat!

Makes it easier to do tricks ! :)

ok, i use clicker and "good boy" at the same time. I just find a iPhone apps that is a i clicker, with the same sound of a real one.

I wanted to know where I can get a clicker
