the vet said that Abba tested positive for E-coli...?

He says that i need to clean the water bowls better and wash any fruit or veggies.

I am super careful and not sure how this could be possible?

she is 35 and I have had her for three years.

On the bright side, regardless of how or why... it can be remedied. Glad you caught it before it was more serious.

Despite the very best of precautions, the invisible microscopic world is relentless. The good news is you were observant and brought Abba to the vet!

If you use any plastic dishes, that could be one place for the little micro-beasties to hide. Plastic bowls and plates can get tiny little scratches in them and bacteria can hide in the scratches and be near impossible to fully clean.

And I agree with the others. You did a great job catching it early and being able to treat it.
