This is Tengu, a sun conure who was found on the side of the road still in his cage that had a bunch of dents (possibly indicating he fell off a truck or was purposely dumped.)

I have tried to find the original owner, but after months of putting up ads, talking to animal control and sanctuaries, Tengu has not had a place to stay so he's been staying with me for close to a year now. His history prior to me finding him is a mystery, and unlike my other two birds, he is very nervous but non aggressive. I would really like to see him with someone who has only one bird or another sun conure he can bond with.

He's really beautiful!

Thank you! Tengu I can see potential as being a nice bird as there are a lot of good qualities about him:

-Although it is never safe to keep them together (of course), Tengu has shown to be able to hang out with my other two birds during the day (monitored of course).

-He does not screech much, he will when I get home from work during the evening, but he does not scream 24 hours a day and is very manageable.

He seems like the kind of bird that would do best with someone who only has him and can devote a lot of attention or another sun conure he can play with. He is nervous (though with his history I don't blame him) he will still try to compete with my other birds for attention haha.

I'd take him but I'm in Hawaii, too far plus we have quarantine and youd have to wrap him up like a plant to send him to me :11: there has to be someone who'd want a beautiful Sun like him! :)

Poor guy given his history he certainly deserves the best home that you can find for him!

Where about in Houston are you located? My husband and I have been thinking about possibly adding a conure to our home.

I remember when you found him. I hope he finds a wonderful, loving forever home soon!

I have a Monk Parakeet (Quaker Parrot) that he'd likely be able to bond with. Contact me.

I hope you find a great home for him! Be careful with who you place him with, and ask plenty of questions! Good luck!

Hello, I am reaching out to you I seen your post abut the abandon Sun Conure. We have had a Sun Conure before and just yesterday my wifes bird a quaker died she had it for a couple of years and she was so attached to it spending time with him every single day, well this morning he died and its so heartbreaking to see my wife so heartbroken over the loss of her little fella. We really cant afford to just go buy another bird for $400 anymore so I am hoping if you havent found its owner out there that you would consider letting us have the little fella. I am hoping some person out there that has a caring heart will please help us.

If u could see my wife and see shes very upset. I know its asking a lot just for u to just hand over a bird and get nothing in return. But i promise we will take good care of the bird and give it so much attention and love.

I forgot to mention we live in the houston area, in Cypress Tx. We both are big bird lovers well pet lovers in general and can offer a lot of attention. We have a cage, we have food already and toys and those kind of things.

Just wanted to let you know I appreciate your consideration. I wish he was what my husband is wanting, but based on our interaction, I'm confident you will only release him to a wonderful, suitable home.

Just checking in. After my baby Kyro passed away it took me a couple years to finally decide to adopt another baby. If you still happen to have this beautiful little dude please send me a PM and ill be able to answer any questions you'd like to have answered. I don't live in houston but i'm not very far of a drive away! Thanks in advance!
