A Toy For A Bird Who Thinks He's A Dog!

Ok, so my CAG Quincy has gotten a little shoe fettish! He flies, finds our shoes and begins to chew on them! He LOVES shoes but I have found the perfect solution! Baby shoes! Went to the thrift store and bought him some baby sneakers for him to chomp on. Threw them in the wash and 10 minutes later he was chewing it to bits! He loves them! He never ingests any of the shoe material, just loves to tear them apart! Here is a pic of his new favorite toy!

I took these about a week ago. Here's what the shoe looks like now!

Well....my husbands pair needs new shoe strings. He went to put them on and they fell apart! LOL! And my sons brand new Keens have a whole chewed in them. But we saved them just in time. Everyone is now required to put there shoes away in the proper place if the don't want them to get chewed up! So far, everyone is complying. Gee....I wonder why!

That's so funny, our African brown head has a shoe fetish too.
We wash up old shoes for her as well, we make sure that there is no metal rings where the shoelaces goes through just to be safe.

We have been fortunate enough to find shoes without the metal rings! Isn't it funny the different things our birds love! LOL!

GREAT idea you had there!!! I wanted to suggest those little bitty canvas shoes you can get, but "forgeddaboudit". they wouldn't stand a CHANCE with Quincy. :54:
