Hi everybody, its been a long while!

So I return to you today with a very strange problem. Stanley has always thought I am his mate, and thus has always groomed my face and hair. He's also picked up a new habit in the past couple months.

I have horrible allergies so my nose often drips. Stanley is a booger picker. He will run up on my chest and thrust his beak directly into my nostril for an attempt to get my apparently delicious mucous. He will struggle and strafe around my hands as I flail to dislodge him from my nose, so he can get as much scrumptious snot as possible.

Long story short, I'm disgusted and worried about the health consequences of this "food".

How can I break this habit? I don't like having my nose picked and its concerning me for his health.

I share your concern over possible sharing of dangerous germs.

Not sure how well this will work with more-tiny bird like budgie. My Sunny is also fascinated by nose, but I always dip my head when she tries to reach inside. So, my nose itself blocks access to the interior but leaving her free to chew on the exterior as much as she likes.

Yup, not good from a health stand point as noted above.

Way out there, but maybe worth a try. Check around for nose plugs that some swimmers use in competition swimming events.

Check with your Doctor as there are several medications on the market that vastly reduce the dipping.
