A red crowned baby @ the pet store

We saw a female rca @ our pet store today. So sweet, only 4 months old. She wouldn't step up but she put her head down for scratches. $949.00 on sale, I can't even dream about it. She had a smaller red band than Merlin had @ 8 months old, but the feathers behind the red band were green w/very little blue on the crown. I thought @ 1st LCA, but I'm not sure.

They also had a sun (my gosh, what energy) & a Fallow Green Cheeked Conure. I had never heard of the last one, but her feathers were either the lightest sage green or maybe even a light mint green. Very pretty birds, but they had a maniac run around the cage thing going on.

I wont be going back for a while, there is just so much self restraint I can handle.

I have never heard of the fallow but did find a photo. Lovely bird.

Yes, she was. She had very light wing feathers also. & so tiny, is Cricket very tiny? I cant imagine the difference between Rosie & Cricket.

I had to come back to this thread to find out what the date was. I went to visit the little female RCA & she is gone. The sun & the fallow green cheek were gone too. I asked a employee & he said they all sold the same day. I can only hope they went to good homes. I guess its a good thing that they weren't in the pet shop long.

The pet store had a 25% off of all live animals. They had a baby CAG, $1600 less 25%. She had the look of SB's Rosie around her eyes & a red tail. Isn't that a TAG trait? She was very sweet & seemed really comfortable @ the pet shop. Just eating & playing w/her toys. I have really got to stop visiting this pet shop.

There's a pet store in Ventura that I've gone to once, and I can't go there again. There was a beautiful parrot - don't know the type, but it was all peach colored feathers & black beak - sitting in a filthy cage, desperate for any attention. I walked by and she climbed the bars of her cage to get to me and kept saying "Hi, baby! Hi, baby!" I stood and talked with her for a few minutes, and she reached her foot out to take hold of my finger and started preening it. I had to leave. I refuse to give my money to places like that, it just helps keep the market going and they buy more, and I couldn't stand there and watch her. It depressed me for days.

$940 sounds a little steep for an re crowned Amazon. But you did say a pet store, which are usually more expensive. I am buying a lilac crowned parrot from a reputable breeder for $650.00.
