A really sweet moment with my ziggy bird

My Ziggy bird just made me so happy that I started bawling. Had to share.

Ziggy, my double yellow headed amazon, can say "pretty bird" super sweetly, but she knows we love it so she is super stingy about when she says it.

My parents have had Ziggy and my macaw Max since before I was born. I am super attached to those bird. But especially Ziggy. Anytime I was sad, my parents would get Zig for me and she would make everything better. She just did.

I haven't heard her say "pretty bird" since going to college and then moving to LA (so probably about 6-7 years).

I was having a bad stressful day today. Honestly it's been a stressful week. So I was video chatting with my mom and the bird, and out of nowhere Ziggy starts saying "Pretty bird" over and over again.

I was so happy I started crying.

Then I grabbed my camera.

I miss my birds back in Chicago so much, and to hear her say "pretty bird", which is my favorite thing she says, after so long, and when I was so sad... it just made everything so much better.
