Did he have a relaspe? I hope not. Joining you in prayer. They have been through so much.

Awwww, what's wrong with Hugo? I thought he was on the road to recovery, I hope he's ok, praying for his health to return.

Thank you for praying for Hugo, that's the reason I posted a prayer for him.

Ecclipe is at her wits ends right now.

Hugo's one nostril is swollen and his voice sounds hoarse, like when you loose your voice. He also has a running tummy.
Ecclipse is taking him to the vet again.
Will keep you updated.
PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR HUGO

Poor Hugo and Ecclipse! It sucks when your baby is sick and they've had such a hard time lately. Hoping he gets feeling better soon.

Thanks to you all, I am sure Ecclipse appreciates all your prayers and support.
My heart aches for her, it's been a long hard road for them both. Ecclipse is a fantastic guardian to Hugo, always going the extra mile, 24/7. She is so proud of Hugo's progress. Whenever he does cute (or naughty) things, I receive the most hilarious e-mails, which I just love.....
HUGO MEANS THE WORLD TO ECCLIPSE

To my dear friends, thank you so much for your kindness and support. Our network has been doing its tricks again but I was able to get in tonight. I couldnt get hold of the vet as she was in surgery but am phoning her tomorrow. The nostril went down which was such a relief but the other one seems to be swollen. He has been speaking so much lately and I honestly thought we were out of the hard times. His voice is sounding strange - maybe they do that when a parrot goes through adolesance? He is still eating and perky - my brave boy. I have stopped going onto the internet as it scares the living daylights out of me. I will chat to the vet first thing tomorrow and find out what I must do. I dont know what I would do without the forum and you guys! I have asked myself over and over again what went wrong - its been 5 months now with 6 weeks of antibiotics and nebulising! If anyone has any herbal remedies or anything to tell me please help....anything. He said Yum, yum, yummy yummy today - funny voice and all. He was doing so well!!!!

I went to the petshop to enquire about Hugo's permit - AGAIN!! and I walked past one of the cages with a senegal in it - I said hello to it and guess what?......it sneezed. I guess he has had this all along. Please keep praying. I really appreciate it. :(

Ecclipse, I was reading through my Parrot handbook came across some things about the nostrils.......

Check the cere and nostrils.

The soft area above the beak, the cere, should be soft and fleshy with clear, round, and well-formed nostrils (nares). In some parrots, the nostrils are covered with feathers, in others the cere is naked. There is a little piece of flesh in each nostril that may look like a small seed — it is normal. Any redness, clogging, or discharge can be a sign of an infection. Beak grooves running from the cere or misshapen nostrils can be a sign of a chronic respiratory problem.

PS.... You have got mail !!!!!

I phoned the vet and Hugo has to go stay at the clinic for a couple of days - she is postive and says its best if she can keep an eye on him and she is also going to place him in a small cage so that he can rest. I told her that he is still perky and covers quiet an area around his cage and playpen. She wants to keep him as still as possible - all the best there LOL. Im feeling more postive as well and am sure that this will be his ticket to true health. Your prayers are working - thank you so much! God Bless!!! Gonna miss my boy tho...

Both of you have been through so much. It sounds as if Hugo has some kind of chronic infection. It is possible he will need his immune system built to be stronger. Not information for now because he sounds in an acute phase and it is a good thing vet will have him for a few days. Hugs, prayers and healing energy are sent to you both.

Thanks SB, I just got back from dropping Hugo off. Im sitting on my bed in front of my laptop and I feel so alone - its like a piece of me is missing. You dont realise how much you love something until its not there. I keep thinking of him being scared and not knowing why he is away from me. The vet placed him in a very small cage which has enough room for him to walk around in but small enough to make him rest and be still. He is to be nebulised daily for 7 days and given more antibiotics. I made an interesing discovery. Over the last two days I stopped feeding him fruit and veg and just gave him pellets. Before I did that his droppings were caramel and soup like, his nostrils were also swollen. Today his droppings are back to colour but still water like and his nostrils not as swollen as before. The vet is going to try apples for the 7 days and if there is anything we will know not to feed apples. We will then work through all the fruit and veg that I feed him to find if he has allergies. I was quite emotional and she said that Hugo will probably have problems with this his whole life but the whole aim was to get it sorted now. She then said that I might want to invest in a nebuliser and could nebulise him myself because he will have to begin the who process again of returning to the vet clinic weekly - I live 40 minutes away. Thank you again for your support you guys are the best!!!! Will keep you posted!

You did the right thing Ecclipse. Must be very hard being away from Hugo, I feel for you.
He is in safe hands now, please God let them find a solution.
BE STRONG MY FRIEND !!!!
Always in my thoughts and prayers
REMEMBER WE ARE ALL HERE FOR YOU ALWAYS

For those who have stood by me all the way - Hugo is coming home tomorrow!!!!!! Im so excited, he has been away at the vet since Friday. They have given him an antibiotic which has worked and his droppings are perfect and no swollen nostrils. He is a VERY sulky boy! Tomorrow is going to be an awesome day!!! I have missed him so much, its been so lonely without him. The vet says we are well on our way to being in the clear - no more sniffles :) :) Thank you for the prayers - it worked!!!! I must say that even though Hugo has had a tough time, its brought us closer and we are stronger for it. Blessings to you all!

I am so glad Hugo is on the road to recovery and well enough to come home, you must be so excited!
