I'd just add a small caution that you need to watch your birds with the bell. After poor Safari's sad passing due to dismantling a bell, we all need to be a bit more careful when adding them to our cages. :)

I was told not to put a bell in a cage with a bird because they're zinc. I know zinc is toxic, but why would a bird toy with a bell have zinc? Poorly made toy? I'm talking about a store bought bird toy with the bell on it. Not something homemade.

BruceV- I think it depends on the bell/ who brand it is. i guarantee not all bird bells have zinc, but im sure some may. also people may be talking about birds not made for birds, that they went out and bought for birds. I test all mine for zinc(mild acid test). most of the liberty bells you see are nickle plated, which is fine, just watch for wear on them. i also bought a few SS cowbells. Cooper cant break the cowbells so i mostly just use those over and over.

Back to topic. haha. great looking toy! looks like fun!

You'd be surprised and horrified to learn how many toys sold in toy shops are unsafe due to poor construction and/or inappropriate materials. I know I was utterly disgusted with how little the staff at the biggest petstore knew about the toys they were selling. I make 99% of Percy's toys myself for this reason.

Sorry to hijack the thread. Great looking toy!

Amen to this... Still feel so bad about safari, so I removed all clacker parts from my belled toys with the exception of one, which she can't get to the bell. Heck I can't even gets to it.
