Hello everyone!!

I've been holding on to a little secret for about a week or so, but, I'm now ready to share with all of you....

We have adopted an 18 yr old Blue and Gold Macaw, he will be coming home with us the middle of January. I can hardly wait!! I've attached a couple photo's of him.

Also, My Mom has adopted FIVE Sun Conures, yes, that's right FIVE!!!! Along with a beautiful double flight cage. They are all just wonderful and one of them has fallen head over heals for my daughter, Kayla. She will be taking him home with her, his name is Mango. The Conures are more breeding birds than companion birds, although 3 of the 5 seem to enjoy human interaction, therefore, we give it to them. I'll explain later how my Mom came about getting these guys.

In the meantime, here'ssssssss BABE! Our new beautiful Blue and Gold.

Thank you EVERYONE!!! I am just elated about it!!! I have waited a real long time to have the time to enjoy these birds. I've always wanted to have birds, but, knowing how much time, money, devotion, love and responsibility it takes, and since I didn't have any of the above, I needed to wait until I did. Well, that time has come for me, although, I DON'T have a bunch of money, I do have what it takes to properly care for them. Most all of the birds my Mom has have been either given to her or sold to her for extremely inexpensive. Maui was a gift to me from my husband and Babe, well, I'm adopting Babe from a WONDERFUL lady who just adores him, I'll explain that later.

I am so excited about Babe, my whole family is. Babe is an AMAZING bird from all that I've heard so far. He's very loving and affectionate, LOVES to snuggle and get kisses. He does talk, but doesn't have an extensive vocabulary, and I could care less about that anyways. I've been told that he has a GREAT and SILLY personality, loves to be loved and is an all around happy guy. That is ALL that matters to me, is that he is happy and healthy. We are all very anxious to have him come "home" officially!!! I will get some video of him and certainly photo's as soon as that happens to share with all of you.

Yes, we surely do have quite the flock!! You'd be surprised at how much time you have. Even though out of all the birds, the only one that is officially MY bird is Maui, I still spend a good deal of time with all the others as well, at least the ones that are tame and I still will TALK to the ones that aren't. Babe will be MY bird, but, we'll see who he takes a liking to once he gets here and gets settled in. I'm not expecting a miracle over night or anything, as Babe has been in his current family's life for almost the entire 18 yrs. I'll explain his story in another thread. :)

Lisa, I'm going to start calling you "Menolly" if you get any more parrots. I'm not sure if anyone else here gets that reference, but I think it fits! ;)

I don't get it?!? But, I sure hope it's not bad, LOL. Babe will be my second Parrot. You might should save the reference for my Mom:D, she's the one that has a ton of them, but LOVES each one of them nonetheless and takes excellent care of them all. :orange::orange::orange::orange::orange::orange:

The Blue and Gold will be mine and my husband's baby. So, we will have Maui and Babe and quite possibly MAY have to take KiKi home too once we move, because she and Maui are such great friends. But, we shall see. I don't really want to take KiKi from my Mom, My Mom ADORES her and KiKi ADORES my Mom too. It will be hard whether we take her or not. SO, for the record, it's just the 2 birds that belong to me. :) Although, I wouldn't mind having more, I think Babe and Maui will be quite enough for me to contend with. :)
