A milestone has been made

Maxx is 10 months old 5 months home now, and i do believe i have
gained full trust.
this morning he came down his cage to the couch where i was and he got
next to my leg and was trying roll over. you know these guys are smart.
he watches the dog come to me in the same spot getting belly rubs daily.
he could not quite figure out the roll so i picked him up and for the first time turn him upside down to rub his belly. than i was also able to get him to hang upside down from my thumbs.
I'm just so proud of him.

im finding about every thing i have read about opposite about how
they don't care much for petting maxx loves being stroked and petted

YAY!!! congrats to Maxx...but more importantly congrats to YOU. It's a testament that you're doing something right and he appreciates it. Do you have any issues with under the wing tickles adn belly scratches causing hormonal reactions? I'd love to interact with Wrangler more but I dont want to excite him. Oops...just remembered...he's still a baby, you dont have those issues yet

Under the wing tickles definitely can be a hormonal trigger. Personally, I keep contact there momentary at best. Prolonged touching there can get them a bit... excited, and give the wrong impression. But teaching them to raise a wing for a moment and giving a quick tickle of a second or so and then moving on shouldn't be a problem.

Belly scratches shouldn't be an issue, so long as you are staying away from the lower abdomen/groin area.
