Green Cheeked Conure: Kiwi

Pacific Green Rumped Parrotlet: Peeps
A little heads up on Kiwi: He's doing GREAT!!! When I feed him his little mash i've learned that he absolutely loves corn and apples. I havn't tried giving him any kiwi's, maybe next time i'm in i'll buy one.

He dosn't really like being in his cage(which i'm fine with I guess since i'm just as eager to hold him as he is to get held :) )but he dosn't mind it at all when i'm there with the door open.

I've learned that he LOVES to chew on leather and i'm so pleased to see him using all the toys i bought. I am also VERY thrilled to say that he LOVES being on the rope ladder that I made him. I set it up so that for him to get to his food he has to travel accross the rope ladder, and he does! I'll put some pictures on of him doing it :)

I'm glad that I'm seeing what he does and does not like so i'll know what to buy when I order again.

He isn't much of a shredder i've learned

I'm also very happy to say that the day I put him in his cage he slept in the tent i put in there. I just picked him up and put him in it to show him where he sleeps.

One thing I learned also that really get's his attention is when you make the little chirping sound. He perks up immediately and that's usually the only thing that will make him "speak" so to speak. Also I'm teaching him how to fly to me, i'll just do that chirping sound and he'll fly to me. I like that a lot about him :)

He's a VERY slow flyer and usually when he takes off I can quickly turn and catch him before he get's 2 feet from me. LOL!

I bought him a flight suit but I have yet to be able to put it one. :(

A couple things I absolutely LOVE about him: He will let anyone in our family hold him and he shows absolutely no signs of aggression, i have yet to be bitten by him. When he's on my shoulder and i put my finger back there and say step up he won't run away from my finger like Peeps does(one thing i don't like about Peeps)he'll instead step up. I have a devil of a time getting Peeps off my shoulder. :(

I'm making sure(i don't have much of a choice though, lol)that he get's up to at least 5 hours out everyday. :)

Oh one thing I forgot! He LOVES to snuggle! When i put him in my shirt he'll go all the up to my armpit and fall asleep. It's so funny how he does it though, he'll put his back to me and then grasp my shirt with his claws. lol!

Well that's all I can think of for now, enjoy the pictures. :)

And darnit I uploaded 5 pics that wern't even that good and they won't let me get anymore.....

So very cute!!!! Listen though ...the little metal chain he is playing with in two shots? If he manages to separate and ingest any of segments he could be in deep trouble. Love shots and stories. You two are a match!

Yeah that's what I was thinking. So i quickly took it away from him. (for some reason i knew someone would comment on that lol)But i wanted to quick snap a couple pictures before he did it

Is that a happy hut? I used to get wrnts happy huts, until I learned that when he chews it, it gets to be all tangled strings--not good for a bird to play with and probably get stuck in. So make sure Kiwi isn't chewing on the hut itself.

Yeah it is. (at least i think it is) There's Wool on the inside and as far as i'v seen, he hasn't really chewed on it. :)

I love those pictures! You're doing a fantastic job!

I never expected Cal to be the joy she is to the extremes she is. They're just so amazing to have and learn from aren't they?

Thanks so much. And yes they really are! Those pictures are actually very terrible. First i didn't get a close look at them and ever single one of them isn't focused right. 2nd, I have way better ones that are focused in on him. Unfortunetaly parrotforums isn't letting me put some more on, it's really weird.
