9 days away from Sprite!?

I am going to be away from Sprite for 9 days! He will be at a boarder (Ik boarders are risky, but I was recommended by my vet and the place & owner is great!) with tons of other birds, and I will be bringing some of his toys and perches so he feels more at home. But being away from him for 9 days, how do you think he'll act when hes there and when I come back?

I think it depends on your bird's personality. I left Pepper for two days for a quick vacation, and when I came back he was NOT happy with me. We've mended our relationship since and we're best friends again, but I was not prepared for his "how dare you leave me!" attitude.

One of my friends joined the army and had to leave his Jenday in his stepmom's care. When he came back to visit, his Jenday came over and bit him once real hard then was cool with him. It's a little different situation, but be prepared for some anger when you get back.

I was only once away fron Sunny, for 3 days... my mum took care her (I still live at home), and I saw Sunny on the morninh of the fourth day, let her out of the cahe, and she ignored me for an hour, then flew to me, gripped my shirt under my chin and didn't let go for I don't know how long... it was like: ''I'll ignore you cause you left me alone, but I missed you so much, don't you dare leave again'' she even screamed at me when I tried putting her in the cage so she could eat haha

I'm a little worried bout the summer vacation though... I won't be home for 10 days and she'll be in my mums care again (luckily she knows how to handle her and Sunny likes her too), but my mum is gone for work from 6am to 6pm I would like to take her with me, but she isn't trained enough for this.... maybe in a few years I hope....

I am sure he will be fine! He may be mad at you for a couple of days, but he will be so happy to see you again and will soon settle back down! I boarded Codie for a Week and when she came home, she turned her back on me for a whole day so I just left her alone and by the next day she was back to her normal self

We've boarded Guava at a local bird shop for 5 days during last year's Christmas break and for 3 days on Memorial Day weekend. She was just fine and was happy to see us when we came back for her. She pranced around with an attitude for a few minutes before stepping up for a cuddle when we got home, but that's about it. She even seemed excited to be back the second time we took her, as she immediately perked up and repeatedly called out ("Give me kiss!") to the other birds at the shop.

Thanks guys I've been trying to spend extra time with Sprite to strengthen our bond possibly more before I leave!
