So Cocoa is 31, we have his birth papers, sexed as a male from the rescue i got him from, LOVES FEMALES and tolerates males ( humans)

my issue with him is when he is in the cage he lunges and fights me to come out, but my wife can come in the room and he is trying to get to her. She cannot handle him as much because of his behavior he shows(regurgitating, and any type of hormonal body language possible)

When i get trick him out on my hand with a treat he is fine. But if i put him on the playstand its the same thing all over again. He will lunge at me if i try to get him to step up.

I am fully aware he may never want to be as nice to me as my wife, we have had him over a year now with almost little to no success of him wanting to be involved with me.

With little to no history, you have no history of what this Parrot has dealt with in his past.

We have dealt with older, sick and likely Abused Amazons. None of them had any want to ever deal with Humans again.

The Humans are the ones that need to be very constant in their interaction with their Parrot. Mixed signals result in mixed responses. Consider 'starting over again.'

Parrots have no natural reason to trust Humans that requires Humans to provide that Parrot a reason to trust us.

With you being the Human on the outside looking in, you are faced with providing something that the Mac wants. Whether that is treats, being let out, providing the food and drink, etc, etc, etc...

Change Your Vantage Point:
- It is Never the Fault of the Parrot!
- It is Always the Fault of the Human!
By changing your Vantage Point, you will more quickly determine what you are doing wrong and thus correct it...
