Hey all...I thought this might be a fun thread.

Of course, we're all bird lovers here and I'm sure I'm not the ONLY Birder who feeds the birds in my yard.

I'd love to see the species of birds you get in your yard, so get out there and take some pics. :D

I'll start with a few species I've caught on camera so far.

Can't wait to see what other people have in their yards,

Toni

I'm not sure how to post photos from my camera but I can tell you that the wild turkeys have been putting on a show! In our yard this year, for some reason, we've got lots of males, (I counted six this morning), doing their mating call, gobble-gobble-gobble, all fluffed up and hanging out with themselves, while the females, counted eight, peck around and ignore them! Fun to watch!

Wow what beautiful birdies you have hanging around! Currently all I've spotted are pigeons and seagulls in the closest park area, and my back yard is... a yard, wit houses behind, so not much perching material for pretty birdies.

Would love to see any other pictures members have :D

Wow what beautiful birds you have in your area. I have a bird feeder for the wild birds, but I haven't seen any that beautiful in my yard.

Sorry I don't have any pics but the birds we have in our yard are sparrows, robins, cardinals, blue jays, red and yellow finches, grackles, black birds, red wing black birds, meadow larks and wood peckers. I'm always on the look out for something even more unusual passing through like a titmouse(cutest bird ever) and later we should get some humming birds. And also we don't have them in our yard there is a phone tower near our house that turkey buzzards roost on. It is fun to watch them go out in the morning and come home circling at night. There are hundreds of them. We also get flybys by red tailed hawks and there is a bald eagle that flies over that lives by the river a few blocks away. I love watching birds and they love me because I feed them and we have a pond and waterfall they like to visit.:)

i only put food out for the birds out back, as nuts cage over looks the front, and after last yrs cherry tree incident with a rather cheeky black bird, i thought better of it lol

I dont have any pics at the moment but I get blackbirds, sparrows, house finches, cardinals, orioles, crows of cource, the occasional raven, humming birds, blue jays and there is even a pair of ringneck doves that live next to my house.

LOL, we have bats too. We live in a 100 year old craftsman house and the bats love the over hangs on the house, as do robins and sparrows. Anyway our cats climb the roof and go bat hunting in the summer. Luckily the birds build their nests where the cats can't bother them, they are smarter than the bats. I forgot about the doves we get too, they are a very sweet pair. Now the grackles, one day I saw a bunch of them killing a bull snake in our yard! Very odd to watch....

I mostly see robins, sparrows, starlings, grackles, red winged black birds, black birds, orioles, woodpeckers, gold finches, blue birds, hawks, crows. I see a bald eagle pair once in awhile, sometimes pheasants, wild turkeys or blue herons. Oh, buzzards all the time, too. Rarely I see owls.

I used to have a ton of bats until my big, old barn came down.

I live in Rotonda west Fla. about 1 mile from the gulf of mexico as the crow flies. If you like watching birds and wildlife it is fantastic. we also have part of the canal system at the end of our back yard.we just a regular house lot .the birds depending to the time of year change. robbins, blue jays, grackles mocking birds, crows, mourning doves, collard doves, sparrows, redbellied woodpeckers, pileated woodpeckers, downy woodpeckers, large flocks of ibis, bald eagle, annhingas, cormarants, laughing gulls, great blue herrons, sandhill cranes, woodstorks, little blu herons great white egrets, snowyegrets cattle egrets moore hens, ducks, black vultures turkey vultures, humming birds, hawks, kestrils, and the other day I saw my first rosette spoonbill fly thru my backyard,I was very excited Alison and sweetie pie:D

Lots of birds here, but its extra special when we get a blue heron or a bald eagle!

The birds that come to my backyard are sparrows (LOTS of them), Thrush's and there is a Tui that lives near by. My Alexandrines like to talk to it from time to time.

There might be some other smaller birds mixed with the sparrows, but im not too sure what they are. :p
Ive seen a few finches with them.
Im not the greatest when it comes to naming bird species.
:p

scrub jays, lotsa hawks, owls, sparrows, chickadees, and hummingbirds.

I don't have a proper feeder for them but I throw my day-old mini-macaw food out the back door for them each morning and they love me for it.
