He is on the bottom of the cage, it seems like his feet are crippled and he can't perch. He is still eating and drinking. He started to lose his feathers a year ago and they are not growing back. He is also chewing on the paper we use at the bottom of the paper like he is nesting. I think it is old age and he is preparing to dye but no one can tell me anything so far unless they look at him and the only vet we trust is on vacation. Anyone know anything about this.:green1:

Is this bird a DNA'd male? Is it possible that it's actually a female that has an egg she cannot pass? It could be a number of other things as well. Either way if you want any hope of saving your bird it needs to go to a vet. I understand that your vet is on vacation but any vet is better than none when your bird is on the bottom of it's cage and cannot perch. Please, Please have this bird seen by a vet asap.

Yeah, get your bird to a vet. Not all vets are made equal but you are getting exactly nowhere just watching and wondering if your bird is dying. A vet will be able to give you further guidance. Do it ASAP.

Why did you wait so long to take the bird to a vet? Like others say please get this poor bird to a vet if you care at all. Dont waste any more time talking to us on the internet.

Call your vet's office. They probably have alternate vets that you can go to when yours is not available. Most good vets have recommendations for emergencies when they are not available. If they are closed they probably have a voice recording with a number to call.

You have my hopes for the best for you and your bird.

Feathers not growing back could be old age. But that can also be a vitamin deficiency or skin problem. And feet unable to grasp perches could be various problems. Please get this poor soul to a vet. He's too old, with too many symptoms, to take chances with. Time is probably not on his side.

Get your bird to a vet ASAP! You might find that he/she could be doing a lot better after some medical attention.

Keep us updated, please! :)
