Parrotlet
We have a 10 week old parrotlet. A few days ago, we noticed that his poop was green and looser than usual. The breeder told us that he could have caught a cold due to the temps in our house, so we bought a heat lamp. He seemed better the next day, more lively, etc. but the poop is still green. The consistency is back to normal but the color isn't. We called a local avian vet to ask if we should bring him in & were told that some change in color is fine, but then also told ust that we shouldn't be feeding him any seed because it's too fattening. The seed/pellet mixture we're feeding him was purchased from the breeder & we were told that if mixed with fresh vegetables and occasional fruits, it would be a fine daily diet. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you. :whiteblue:

If your bird is eating more seeds the color of the poop will be green. It's pretty common. Try to offer more fresh foods if possible.

Poops are also affected by the fresh fruits and vegs that you feed as well as the dyes in pellets Just like wild birds outside when the start eating wild mulberries they start pooping purple which doesn't come off white paint very easily:D
