Well, it has been over 1 month since we brought our Phoenix home. I don't think any of us could image our lives without him. I have notice he has a different relationship with each of us.
It is great watching him with the kids. They will play tag with him (of course when I get out the camera to video tape they stop). They will touch him and move away and he will chase them and touch them then runs away. Last night he was playing tug-a-war using a stick with them. If they stopped pulling the stick he would walk over with it and put it in their hand. With my husband he will sit on his chest and try to nibble on his ear. He will follow us around the house if we don't move too fast. It does seem that when he wants a good hair surfing that I am top choice. He also likes to hang down in my face and attack my hand, making squeaky toy noises. He will also sit on my chest and rest under my chin for loves and quiet time. Loves to sleep on top of his hut instead in (we even bought a bigger one and he still sleeps on top).
He has one call that sounds like "up, up" and he uses when he wants to be picked up. Yesterday, I swear I heard him say "out" in the morning. And he has a call that he says when it is bedtime. My 11 y/o is teaching him to "shake", while we all are working on "come". He has learned that his human flock doesn't have thick skin so his play bites has to be gentle, though sometimes he still gets a little over excited and bites a little hard. (To which his beck is held for a moment and told "gentle".) He also loves taking selfies and knows "kisses".
In the next couple weeks my son (9 y/o) will be trying to teach him the difference between 2 colors for his science fair project. I think this will be a good exercise for both. I was thinking of red and yellow-any suggestions?
