Patcho and Plumas were inseparable from the beginning.

Plumas because he was a wild caught bird was not much for handling. Pacho on the other hand was equally bonded to me and Plumas. I would taker her with me into the shower and when I did this Plumas was not happy about it.

Pacho was a bird that was content to sit on my shoulder for long periods of time. She would groom my hair and nibble at my ear. Only once did she give me a chomp on my ear that made me put her back into her cage.

Pacho had "a thing" about wires and belts. walking past her cage with my ear buds on would get her worked up. She did not like the mouse cord on my PC. I am guessing it somehow reminded her of a snake.

Pacho also had "a thing" about scissors. I suspect this is due to a very bad wing clipping she received before I bought her and explains why she never could fly.

I will try to add more pictures when I get the chance.

There is just now way I can put into words what both of these wonderful creatures brought into our families lives.

A big thank you to the moderators Who made this Thread possible

Thank-you, for presenting this Forum concept, as a place to remember is so very important and supportive of moving foreword, but never forgetting!

Beautiful pics and videos of Pacho and Plumas, Wes. Every idea begins somewhere and this one started with you. Thanks for posting the first meaningful thread in this new forum!

What a wonderful tribute to Plumas and Pacho. They were so beautiful, and through your words I feel like I knew them. Thank you so much for coming up with the idea for this forum, and I am so happy that your post was the first here.

I am sorry it worked out this way.
When I was thinking about it I was only thinking of Plumas.
I sure did not want to have 2 birds to put up here.
But they lived together for many years so I think it is fitting that they be together in a memorial also.

Video coming soon.
just a place holder at the moment.

So I am a bit embarrassed to show Thies videos due to such a lack of toys and all the boxes around (wife was doing business making flower arrangements).
But I was dusting off some of the electrons on my hard drive and found them and wanted to share them.
Gone but never to be forgotten.

Sometimes I think I still hear pacho whistling her greeting to me as I would come home from work.

There is a description of the video on the youtube channel.

The vocal range on Plumas is really incredible, and I actually think now maybe Kirby wasn’t wild caught after all - none of his vocalizations are that nuanced and complex. His more closely imitate “human” sounds and vocal ranges. It’s really, really cool to get to hear the difference.

They look really happy, regardless of the toys or boxes. Birds live a long time, which means they go through all the many phases of our lives with us. It’s clear you really love your birds.
