Oo! Where can I find a costume store for birds!?

This is going to be fun! May have to design our own costumes.

Haha, the only costume Kiwi wears for Halloween is his traditional pumpkin-goo 'costume';) He likes to "help" (i.e. practically climb into the cavity of) our annual jak-o-lantern as he merrily munches it (he loves pumpkin).

Can't wait to see everyones birds in costumes! This is going to be a most adorable contest:D

For anyone looking, Flight Quarters has a couple of hats and some Halloween type sweatshirts and stuff. Dunno where you could get.. costume costumes though.

Edit: Because I just noticed... :smiley5: you think it more likely to get a costume on the hawk than the CAG. I love it! We really need a smiley of a little happy face rolling on the floor laughing.

How many birds will actually allow a costume being put on?! I guess birds who will wear a harness or flight suit would be good candidates.

I have an idea for those birds who wear a flightsuit or harness... build a costume by using the harness as the frame, and sewing costume pieces onto it. :)

I have a super cute idea for Griffin, and I won't say what it is right now, but it would only be something around his head. It would be going under his chin behind the beak and all around like a head band. Ooh I can see it now, SO cute!! Problem is, I'd be surprised if he'll let me do it. He does usually allow my fingers around his face, but a foreign object might not go over so well. If he doesn't, then maybe I can try Robin, but he really freaks out over foreign objects near his body. I think Griffin would be cuter though, since he has more of a baby face. Raven, forget it. Raven doesn't even like my hands touching him (and I got him as a tame hand fed 4 month old baby!) Wish me luck with Griffin! I need to figure out how to make it, then hope he doesn't draw blood as I try to put it on.

One of my birds wears a cone, so a costume isnt much of a stretch......And all my birds will be "Helping" with pumpkins

Im hoping to go with a decoration and bird route ;)
I dont think that I can order a costume in a good time, and I'm no sure how Gizmo would react!

Let's make this a bit easier on those who KNOW they'll lose a limb if they tried getting their fid into an outfit.

How about we allow some photoshopping with the submissions? :D

What about birds with pumpkins? Or Halloween decorations? I am getting y submission ready. I'm making a prop for a costume.

Yes, absolutely, that 100% counts as Halloween related. :)

I have a feeling that as soon as people start getting their pumpkins the submissions will start coming. After all, people did vote for this. :)

Years ago while my friend and I were club members with a local bird club she made my Noble macaw Mihijo a Jedi robe and her Nanday Conure Webby a Sith robe. They were a HUGE hit and many pictures were taken.

You would think I would have a copy of that somewhere. Nope..not in his scrapbook, not in my hard drive..not in the old hard drives..no where. Such a shame because that picture was just do darn cute. She also made sandwich costumes for her two cockatiels where they were the meat. They LOVED being in that sandwich because it was warm and soft.

If I dig up old newsletters I probably could find a black and white version of these pictures. They won't look as good as color though

Omg, yes yes yes dig them up! Star Wars parrots would kill me. I'm begging here!

Gilbert is the prop in my costume this year. I am a pirate (finally have that costume). I'm going to wear it to work on Halloween and have him on my shoulder!! :D

Birdie's costume is going to be... (drumroll) CANDY CORN! She has the colors of the sweet treat, so I thought.. might as well. :)

I thought I'd also post a Birdie music video (a cover of "This is Halloween"). I've done a few videos before, but I think this is the first I'm actually posting on the forum.
