Here is my contribution to the chop fan club with sincere thanks to chris-md and Parker for the tips and help which gave me the encouragement to produce this.

Plum was squeaking whilst eating it today - I'm so pleased :) he is such a fussy pants. I am linking back to the OP for the recipe as all thanks go to them please. :)

Thanks, it is so good to have him dive in straight away and the funny sounds he makes whilst eating. :)

I'm going to try this. I bought the following: broccoli, red bell pepper, jalapenos, radishes, green beans, cabbage, carrots, barley, farro, pomegranate. We'll see how it goes. I'm curious as to how much coconut oil you drizzle. Gloria's chop stays in her dish all day while I'm at work then I give her fresh when I get home. Also--what about adding chia and flax seeds?

When you freeze, do you heat it to serve it or let it thaw out overnight then bring it to room temperature?

Kozykitty, I heat it in the microwave when I'm ready to use it.

What you have sounds great. I'm Leary of the pomegranate however. I qualify this with "I've only made two successful batches of chop, I know nothing". However, pomegranate is One of those fruits that, like apple, goes bad after being cut within 15 minutes if not immediately refrigerated in an airtight baggy.

I don't know the answer to the question of if its compatible with chop as such, but My gut tells me it's a question that should be asked, and I have pause.

Pomegranates are served fresh here, cut in half. Parker loves getting at the seeds while shredding the outside. Good foraging activity.

I topdress most of parkers meals with either flax seed or chia.

Just to say that I did add Pomegranate to mine (not huge amount, looks like scattered jewels) and it is fine both freezing and reheating. Foraging for it is better though.

Thanks. I keep an airtight container of it in the fridge and add a little to her veggies. Can't find fresh pomegranate this time of year though so I get the seeds packaged in the produce section at Trader Joes. I eat part of it because it doesn't stay fresh as long as a fresh one.

I found something else to add (speaking of Trader Joe's) There's a brown rice blend that has brown rice, black barley and Daicon radish seeds. I love the stuff. Thought I'd cook up a little and add it to the chop.

That chop looks amazing! There is no better feeling than seeing them enjoy the fruits of our labours:)

This thread has been very helpful. I made Gloria some chop today using the chopping blade in the food processor. I used: 4 jalapenos, 1 red bell pepper, 4 large radishes, a handful of baby carrots, a handful of fresh green beans, a handful of preshredded cabbage, a handful of broccoli florets, a package of pomegranate seeds, 1/4 cup (before cooking) barley, 1/4 cup (before cooking) farro. I gave her some drizzled with a tiny bit of coconut oil and a sprinkling of flax seeds. She seemed to like it--though she picked out all the pomegranate seeds first! I'm freezing it in 1/2 cup baggies.

Well this morning thought I would have a go with some chop made previously. Silly mummy, he threw lumps of it around the cage bottom. I relented and got some of the new batch out, warmed it and put in cage bottom. He went straight down pushed the 'old' chop to other end of his cage and dived into the new, squeaking!

Can I interest anyone in a load of beetroot chop????

@ Kozykitty: Loved the small bags, will do that next time I think. Looks good btw!

They are from Target--their own brand. Portion control snack bags! Love them!
