I've been art for such a long time but I haven't began painting until 2 years ago. I don't paint consistently so a lot of the time they're painted within a few months apart. Before, everything was free handed because I had way more patience. Now I use the grid method for most since I get the exact shape I want (but it still counts as drawing ;)) and it helps me focus more on the colors and the realism but I like to make it more "abstract".

Anyways, heres a few examples that I really like. (NG: no grid, G: grid method)

This was my first acrylic painting and first time on a canvas. (NG)

At one point I was obsessed with owls (NG)

I didn't like how the right one turned out to be a vulture (NG)

I also liked the shape of faces and tried giving them a try many..many times.

This one reminds me a bit of P'Li in Avatar: LOK (NG)

After posting this on IG I realized how off the nose was but I really liked how the paint dried (NG)

Thank you @weco, @jasper19, and @kq_fan :) !
I still have a lot of work ahead of me though, so many people at my school can draw the nicest things in 1 try, so that's what I'm working on--right now I really want to focus on the shading/colors/and textures in paintings.

Thank you too @RavensGryf and @Kinny!!! I was so happy that I found a wood panel...that costed 13 dollars, but I thought the idea was pretty neat. I'll be doing another wood painting soon!

Those are all great, but the feather is my favorite! I love the contrast between the black feather and very light pastel paint splatters. Very cool looking art!

Thank you, I got a lot of great feedback on that :D! It turned out to be the shortest time I've painted and drew...which could be a sign to go more minimalistic.
I'd love to start doing parrot feathers, and have the colors as the backdrop!

I'm torn between the feather and the eyes as my favourite. Love'em!

OH!!! I like the Macaw one!!!

Ah! I knew I forgot something, thank you so much @Selestine and @Pinkbirdy!!
I'm starting to see that I like more abstract-y free drawn art like those two.

OH!!! I like the Macaw one!!!
The Macaw was pretty frustrating, I tried to do something new and try to paint the feathers individually so that's why they aren't really a consistent pallet.

Have you considered selling your work, or letting people pay you to paint thier birds?

I've considered Etsy, but I would most likely sell prints which turn to be really costly. I did commissions before, most of them were for free which was kind of a bummer since I did put hours after hours of work into them but at least I knew them.
Honestly though, I wouldn't be the best at doing commissions anyways. It took my 2 years to start a background for a painting. If I can get my motivation higher, I'd start painting birds or anything in a heartbeat.

These two were given away for free (sorry for the bloodyness)

Given to my cousin

I got 30 bucks for this, so not bad! It took me over 7 hours.

I love the barn owl ones the most.

The only thing that sticks out to me is the Gouldian Finches in the first post have the wrong beak shape, and some of them, like that blue-green parrot (lol I have no idea what that is) doesn't have enough contrast. I really love what you got here though. Keep it up.
