Quite intelligent. Jingles is CAG-female. All birds are social whether they want to be held or not. They want to be in the center of the action. Be sure to keep your bird in an area where they can see your eyes most of the time. They are reading you. You can't fool them or any pet for that matter. I found this site today as I was wondering which bird talks, a male or female or both. I hand fed her as a chick but was always running off to work. She learned to whistle well, but mimicked my husbands telephone conversations as he worked from home. We are now retired and she will usually only talk when you are passing her cage or if we have company and chatting with friends. She will listen and begin to say a few things. However, not on command or often. She fears no one, not even the Great Pyrenees dogs. Careful with her on my shoulder because as a young bird, she whipped around and nearly missed my eye. Scary. I have never trusted her again. I am careful.
