Several years ago, I saw a hanging PVC playgym someone had made for their birds. A few months later, my wife and I wanted to create one for our fids, but wanted to find a way to do it without glue. We came up with an idea, and created a gym. Recently, I shared it with a bird forum and another member created a blog with the instructions. I think the total cost was somewhere around $50-$60, with everything obtained from Lowe's. So far, every bird who has been on it LOVES it.

Edited to add: Apparently, I cannot provide the link to the blog that has the instructions here as the blog post contains a link that you could follow and then decide to make a purchase from that site, and the blog owner is not a sponsor of this site (at least that is my interpretation of what the moderator has told me). So, if you'd like the instructions, send me a PM with your email address in it, and I'll be happy to provide as soon as I can.

Our Atom is 18" in diameter (medium)...originally purchased for our Quaker, by the way. We added it to the center of the gym as an afterthought as it was kinda empty in the middle. It is a BIG hit there as it allows the birds to move from side to side across the middle of the gym instead of running all the way around the perimeter. Since building this gym and hanging it in our "family room", we've added a Java tree beneath that allows the birds to climb from the Atom to the tree, which has food stations on it...

It looks fun. Right now I am focusing on making a regular PVC playgym (I did find some detail instructions online). I am also trying to let Captain Jack get use to his small wooden playgym. Thank you for the instructions. I wonder if there is a way I can make one a smaller size that I and can hang in his cage (He loves to hang on rope stuff and his sisal boing)

Thanks so much! I think I will make one too! I'll post a pic when I am finished. :)

This looks like something my green cheeks would love! Loki would probably like it too but he would have to have his own since the gcc don't share.... Now to convince my stepfather he really wants to make two of these and the wood stand:)

And no I haven't hbarclay85.

I just went out today and bought supplies to make this! I love the look and I think my fid will love it too! Plus we just moved the bookshelf from behind her cage and now her corner looks so empty lol.
