Are playing cards safe for birds to shred? I had gotten my GCC a toy made from cards, foam and paper. She loved it and had destroyed the cards. She isn't a huge chewer, but this toy she loved. I couldn't find any more of the toy till now. I came across almost the same exact toy at mysafebirdstore.com,

But it is out of stock. But they do have playing cards

So I was thinking I could just buy some cards and make my own toy for her. But are any cards safe, certain brands? Anyone know? I assume the cards they sell are safe for birds, right.

my partner and i play a lot of cards and oxy loves trying to get them. i had an old deck of plastic ones which he now gets to destroy. i have had no problems with him chewing them up and think its great them being plastic cause i can clean them.

I have given playing cards, and toys made from cards, to my birds for years. With no problems.

It's safe to destroy, the thing I like is that it is very easy to make into a toy

Thank you everyone for the feedback. That is great news, Ziva loved the cards so much it's good to know I can make my own for her to destroy.
