Hello! :) I have a young Green Cheek Conure and I would like to know what healthy foods, treats, and what your daily GCC's diet is like :) Thanks!:green1::green::green2::orange:;):D:09:

I have a crimson bellied conure, and he eats a seed/pellet mix, along with lots of fruits and veggies. He is crazy about grapes, cauliflower and pomegranates especially. I also use carrots, broccoli, cooked sweet potatoes, kale, apples, melons, bell peppers...We usually use the grapes as treats. I'd love to see a picture of your little guy!

Mine get a mix of seeds and pellets.
In the mornings and when i get back from work they get veggies and fruit.
And when they go to bed they get a chop mix.
In their foraging toys they gets some nuts and dried fruit.
Also you can make nutri-berries yourself as snack, birdie bread.
Here to the pomegranates are the favorite,do know your cage looks like a bloodbath after there done so do take the cage away from the wall,if you're going to do it.

Mine get pellets, no seeds unless they're training :)

The fruit and vegetables they like the most are apple, corn, carrot, orange, spinach, grapes, pomegranates and blueberries. They'll eat almost anything though :)
Make sure to try and feed more vegetables than fruit - too much fruit will make your bird gain weight.

Some things not to feed include salted or sugared foods, onion/garlic, apple/stone fruit seeds, celery, avocado, brassica plants (kale, brussel sprouts), coffee, chocolate, fava beans/broad beans and unripe potatoes and eggplant.

Yes, I'm curious about that too! I Saw it was safe on the list and have been feeding kiwi kale, and occasionally brussel sprouts (switch things up here and there)

If it is truly bad for her, i would like to know so I can discontinue feeding it to her

In a book i bought it only says to feed it cooked, but truly there are many many people who disagree on this matter.

Thanks for the info! From now on I'm only serving it to her cooked, just to be safe. There's lots of other safer, fresh veggie options.

i cut the tops off these tender little weeds in the yard, rinse them well and serve fresh, my GCC LOVES them and will graze on that every day if he could.
one of these day i might spray the grass to get rid of the weeds, but until then ,he loves them!
