My yellow nape Baby is 26 years old. I know the information out there is that they can live to be 60+ but I'm wondering what is the typical expectancy. I haven't seen any older than 30, from the people I know.

my girlfrend's red lored, Cody is somewhere around 30, but we don't know his age exactly.

I shared 40 years of my life with a Yellow-crowned Amazon named George. His exact age and hatchdate weren't known (he was a wild-caught parrot and had at least two previous homes), but he was between 25 and 30 years old when he joined my family in 1969. He was close to 70 years old when he passed away last February-- so Amazons can indeed live 60 or more years. :)

I've got a couple that i've had for 40 yrs, several 30+yrs,and heard of a lady in alaska that had one said to be 105 when it died.

My avain vet has a M. cockatoo that is in his 70's. Just shows you how good health care can increase the life expectancy of a parrot.

Mine is 9 so i have many years with him yet :)

As long as humans. Well if that Alaska storys true then older than humans.
My yc ammy is 8. On my shoulder hootin as I text this.
And I'm sure he'll exceed 60 years. My worry is I'll go first.
I want him to be ok without me And if he shared 60+ years with me. And I go first.
Who knows. Too young to think about it. I'm only 18.
But I love Sam so much I want to be there forever for him. He deserves it.
Oh and my vets dyh is 62. Wild caught. Most birds over 20 are wild caught. But iv seen real real friendly wild caught parrots
